    Grandmothering

I love being a grandmother. If you are over 50, maybe younger, you’re probably a grandmother too. Are you enjoying the times you have with the grand kids? For me, they keep me lively and knowledgeable about different trends. I’m having lots of fun!  Got Girls As a mother, I had three boys and no girls. I wanted a girl so much, but it wasn’t meant to be for me. My boys were the best — they were good kids, simply stated. Their friends were basically like them, so I had no problem having them over to our house for games and sleep overs. Little boys attracted other little who…

    Corset Waist Trainer Review

I so admire those ladies who have hour glass figures.  Not all of us are shaped with a waistline that indents and then curves around the hips.  It’s a very sexy look.  Alas, we come in different shapes and sizes. I must admit, I’ve seen some of the oddest shaped women. There are things we can do to help us get the look we desire.  A waist trainer or cincher may just be the ticket.  Which one should you purchase?  Here’s some help for you. Yianna Waist Trainer/Waist Cincher Corset I personally have tried this cincher.  It gave me such a beautiful hour glass figure look.  However, beware if you have…

    Compassion Is Classy

At the local Community Center where I volunteer to serve hot meals, I watch and observe the people as they stroll in ready to chow down. You can’t always tell whose living on the streets, but sometimes you can.  Our main concern is making sure these people get a full meal and may God bless each and every one. A Heart for Missions Normally when I think of Missions, my mind goes to those who travel to other countries and places to help the needy in life. I suppose Missions can be local. Maybe Outreach is more appropriate. Ministering to the needs of others is the responsibility of each and every…

    Be a Woman of Grace

In this world of Kardashians and Kardashians wanna be’s, be a GRACE. Doris Day It was night– I just happened to be watching A&E Biography. While working at my computer, I looked up long enough to watch the biography of Doris Day. How I loved watching her in musicals and comedy love stories. I learned some interesting facts about this star who I admired a lot. She was the wholesome looking girl next door. She was even referred to as the forever virgin. I understood what they meant. If you’ve seen as many of her shows as I have, you’d understand as well. When Movies Were Prim and Proper Remember…

The Wisdom of a Classy Lady

I’ve known knowledgeable people who were able to disseminate that knowledge with wisdom. By the same token, knowledge does not mean one has wisdom. Arrogance or immaturity can block the way to wisdom. Age and experience may bring one wisdom, and if you are a wise person, how do you pass on this wisdom for the benefit of others? Wisdom Is the Principal Thing Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you. Wisdom is principal; therefore get wisdom. In all you acquire, acquire understanding. Taken from Proverbs 4th Chapter They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh…

    Forgotten Money

This post is not just for my Senior Sisters.  There are still people who don’t know about money being held by the State of California Controller’s Office. Since no interest is earned while being held, you might just as well know about this and get what’s yours. Unclaimed Money Search The whole process is very easily done. I’ll give you the name of the website later. When I looked up my information, I entered my last name only for the search. When I did that, the system not only found my funds but my entire family because I used only the last name. If there’s any variation in the listed…

    The Lady and Her Shoes

OMG! I love, love shoes shopping. I’m a Senior lady but the passion is still there. Granted I no longer wear the 5-inch heels anymore, but I’m holding steady at 4 — maybe 4 1/2.  How are you ladies handling wearing heels….if at all? In Remembrance Do you remember your first pair of heels? I remember my first pair vividly. They were beige with a one inch heel, and boy, were they snappy looking or super cute, which is a description used today. Those shoes, in my opinion, were so unusually stylish that from that time, my shoe shopping was forever changed. From that time forward, I looked for the…

    Be a Giver

Giving to others in need is so simple. Even kind words or a smile can make someone’s day. I know this from my years in the Outreach Ministry of my church. Besides the tangible things people may need…being treated with human kindness and dignity goes a long way. Love Thy Neighbor Outreach (LTNO) That is the name of the Outreach Ministry at my local church, Abounding Grace Ministries, COGIC (AGM). The Bible tells us that it does no good to simply speak over a person’s life by telling them to be warmed and filled and not give them the things necessary to be warmed (clothes, coats) and filled (food) when you…
