    My Coffee Maker Review

What difference does it make what type or what brand of coffee maker you use? I used to think that way, and I still kind of think that way, only because I’m not convinced that one coffee maker makes better coffee than that coffee maker. My Recommendation Black and Decker DCM18S Brew’n Go Coffee Maker With Travel Mug – Black Stainless Steel By Black and Decker $19.99 on Amazon.com 6,210 Review (highest average rating is 4 starts) What I Like About You (Coffee) I love my cup of coffee in the morning! I’m hooked on Hazelnut flavored cream and I do not add sugar (cream is sweet enough).  I’m not…

    Be A Boss Babe

Listen up Sisters, I am well aware that many of you still work a 9 to 5 job.  Some of us are junior  “seniors” and some are senior “seniors”.  Most of us are not rich or even kinda well to do.  So I thought I’d bring this opportunity to those who find themselves in circumstances they didn’t plan on.  I could sure use a little extra money this month….. admit it, you’ve said those very words! For the future retirees and current retirees, you’ll want to have as much retirement funds as you can earn.  Whose to say how long you are I will live.  The money you make from…

The Seasons of a Woman’s Life

I remember I was in my late forties.  While putting on my make up I thought to my self “I don’t see the signs of aging like wrinkles, no darkness under my eyes, smoothes firm skin, but I did have a few gray strands of hair. Fast forward a few years – I was still looking good in my 50s, but I found that when I wore my hair back in a ponytail, I would get a slight lift in my skin which in turn made me look younger.  OK, I thought…it’s starting (meaning the sagging). I never considered the changes that were going on in the inside (out of…

The Collagen Challenge – Will It Work?

I want to talk about Collagen. I now understand the importance of Collagen and why it is so beneficial for the human body? Hold Me Collagen is Greek for “kolla”, which means glue.  Collagen Protein found in our bodies holds us together. Collagen production declines naturally as we get older. So it’s not a bad idea to take supplements. If you decide to take supplements, take it with vitamin C—it helps absorb the nutrients in the collagen. There’s Healing in the Bones An excellent way to get your Collagen is through Bone Broth. Beef (grass-fed) or chicken bones make good healthy broth. Doesn’t this remind you of the times you were…

    For the Love of Fifi

Dog love somehow eluded me for years. Sure I liked animals especially dogs, but I never really wanted a dog. Mostly I was afraid of dogs and I didn’t like it when they would jump on me even though I knew they just wanted to play. Something happened to me later in life,  and I felt dog love. Fifi and the Older Woman Did you watch the classic movies when you were younger? Movies with stars like Cary Grant, Ginger Rogers, Humphrey Bogart; you get what I mean. Comedies were my favorites. I’m glad we have Turner Classic Movies station today. There were always rich people in the cast lineup.…

    Eating Well Recipes

I want to give you a few recipes (not my own) because I found that I could not do this alone. So here  are a few recipe ideas that maybe you can tweak to make them your own, but first this….. We Are Not the TV Golden Girls Here is what I mean. Whenever the Golden Girls needed to talk out a problem which consisted of men, sex, or relatives, they would sit around the kitchen discussing, and eating. Their late night menu usually consisted of the following and not necessarily at one sitting: ice cream, cake, cookies, cheesecake, maybe one of Sophia’s spicy Italian dishes, and a bunch of other stuff.…

    Easy Savings Plan

Many of us oldsters have retired or are looking to retire very soon. It is a must to have had a retirement saving plan in place during your working years. I cannot stress the importance of being able to retire with enough income that allows you to continue to live comfortably. Whether you’re retired or still working, it’s not a bad idea to have an extra savings plan in place. Can I Start a Savings Plan? I realize not every one is or will be in a good financial position when they retire. If all else fails, we have Social Security right? But for how long? Life is surely uncertain,…

To My Classy Sassy Senior Sisters

Each year that we celebrate (or not celebrate) another year of life is a true blessing and gift from God. Many of my friends in their 50s and 60s still look pretty darn good. I’m evaluating from the outward appearances, because….there is something a little nefarious going on in the inside. What Kind of Things? I’m talking about things of a biological nature. I mean bad things…..well actually some good things and some not so good. The medical term for this phenomenon is Menopause or more popular!y known as the Change. Weight gain for no apparent reason, swollen ankles, sleeplessness, feeling heat rise from your feet until it explodes…

    About Patti B

Welcome to my site. I’m excited and in expectation as I live this stage of my life. My STORY Sharing and ministering to the needs of others, has been a way of life for me. That’s not to say I have not had my share of selfishness. With maturity came the realization that we don’t live life for ourselves only. Whatever we accumulate while here, we might as well live as liberally as we possibly can….because as the saying goes “you can’t take it with you”. Well, actually you can have your stuff buried with you, but seriously?!  But I digress. So I want to share the blessings I’ve received…
